It started as a quiet afternoon in the yard while a young family enjoyed time outside with their baby. The child rested safely on a blanket near the porch while the parents worked nearby, unaware that something was moving along the tree line.
Their dog noticed it first.
A wild boar had wandered close to the property, drawn by the scent of food and movement. At first it lingered near the edge of the yard, but soon began stepping closer, snorting and pawing the ground.
Before the parents could react, the dog sprang forward, positioning himself between the animal and the baby. Witnesses later said the dog barked loudly and charged, forcing the boar to hesitate.
The sudden noise and movement startled the animal, which turned and retreated back toward the woods, disappearing as quickly as it had appeared.
