Construction workers inspecting a building site late at night thought they had spotted a stray dog sleeping among the rubble.
The animal was lying quietly in a pile of debris near an unfinished structure. At first glance, the workers assumed the dog had simply found a warm place to rest.
But when they approached and shined their flashlights closer, something unexpected happened.
The dog slowly lifted its head and moved slightly.
That’s when the workers noticed a tiny puppy curled up beside it.
The larger dog had been lying still, shielding the puppy from the cold ground and surrounding debris. Witnesses say the dog remained calm but alert as the workers carefully moved closer to understand the situation.
Concerned about the safety of both animals, the workers began clearing small pieces of rubble around them to make sure the puppy wasn’t trapped.
The puppy appeared weak but unharmed.
Animal rescue volunteers were contacted shortly afterward, and both dogs were safely taken away from the construction site.
Moments like this often remind people how protective animals can be, especially when it comes to younger or weaker companions.
According to witnesses, the dog never moved far from the puppy until help arrived.
