How Many Cedar Waxwings Can You Find? This Bird Puzzle Is Trickier Than It Looks

This Cedar Waxwing counting puzzle looks peaceful at first, but several birds are tucked among the branches, leaves, and berries.

The easiest way to solve it is to scan the picture slowly from top to bottom.

Some Cedar Waxwings are very obvious, including the large birds perched near the top left, center, and right side of the tree. But others are much easier to miss. A few smaller birds blend into the foliage, while others are partially hidden near the edges of the image.

Keep checking the lower branches too, because several birds are perched among the berries and leaves where their brown feathers blend into the background.

When every visible bird is counted carefully, the total is:

11 Cedar Waxwings.

The partially hidden birds near the left and right edges are the ones most likely to throw off your count.

Answer: 11 Cedar Waxwings.

Did you find all 11 on your first try?
