The shelter was busy that afternoon. Families moved from cage to cage, looking for the perfect dog—something playful, energetic, easy.
But one kennel stayed unnoticed.
Inside sat a German Shepherd, perfectly still. No barking. No jumping. Just watching.
Most people didn’t even slow down.
“Too serious,” someone whispered.
“Probably not good with kids,” another said.
