Frida, a golden Labrador from the Mexican Navy’s search and rescue unit, became a symbol of hope after the 2017 earthquake in Mexico City. Wearing her iconic protective goggles and boots, she tirelessly searched through rubble, helping locate survivors and those who had passed.
During her career, Frida participated in many rescue operations, including after earthquakes in Haiti and Mexico. She is credited with saving 12 lives and locating dozens more. Her bravery and dedication turned her into a beloved national hero in Mexico, with murals and tributes created in her honor.
Frida passed away in 2022, but her legacy continues to inspire people around the world.
