Many dog owners love when their dog chooses to sleep right against them. This behaviour is driven by several instincts: dogs seek warmth from your body, feel safer and more secure when close to their “pack,” and it strengthens the emotional bond between you.
Sleeping against you is also a sign of trust and affection. In the wild, dogs sleep in groups for protection and warmth. By choosing to sleep next to you, your dog is showing that it sees you as family and feels completely comfortable and protected in your presence.
