Miley Cyrus has welcomed a very special new family member — a 20-year-old African spurred (sulcata) tortoise named Teru. The tortoise had been living in the shelter system after being found wandering the streets of Palmdale, California. Thanks to the LA-based rescue group Wags and Walks, Teru found his forever home with the singer.
Miley shared that the timing felt perfect, saying the “stars aligned” for the rescue. Sulcata tortoises can live for 80+ years, so this is a lifelong commitment filled with love and care.
