When cats tuck their paws under their body, it is often called the “loaf” position. This usually means they feel calm, warm, and safe. By hiding their paws, cats conserve body heat and rest without fully stretching out.
It can also show trust, because tucked paws mean the cat is not preparing to run or defend itself. Most of the time, this cozy position is a sign your cat feels comfortable in her surroundings.
