The commonly accepted answer is 10 faces.
Begin with the two large faces at the bottom of the tree. Then move upward slowly and examine both sides of the trunk, where eight additional faces are formed by the branches, outlines, and empty spaces.
Some are shown in profile, while others overlap with nearby faces, making them much harder to recognize.
A careful top-to-bottom scan gives a total of 10 hidden faces.
