Can You Solve This Math Problem? 8 + 14 ÷ 2 Is Trickier Than It Looks

At first glance, this looks like a simple calculation—something most people would answer instantly without thinking twice. But that’s exactly why so many get it wrong.

The expression 8 + 14 ÷ 2 is designed to test whether you remember one key rule: the order of operations. Many people rush and add first, getting (8 + 14) ÷ 2 = 11, which feels right… but it’s not.

According to basic math rules, division always comes before addition. That means you solve 14 ÷ 2 = 7 first, and only then add it to 8.

So the correct answer becomes 8 + 7 = 15.
