It was a freezing cold night when we spotted the small bundle in the snow.
A tiny puppy, barely a few months old, was lying on the side of the road wrapped in a dirty pink blanket. Snow was falling heavily and he was shaking uncontrollably.
We thought someone had dumped him and left him to die. My heart broke as I picked him up. He was so cold and weak he could barely lift his head.
But something didn’t feel right.
When we unwrapped the blanket to warm him up, we saw the truth.
The puppy had a deep cut on his leg and dried blood on his fur. Someone hadn’t just abandoned him — they had hurt him first. He had been thrown out like trash after being injured.
We rushed him straight to the emergency vet. The doctor said the cut was infected and he was severely dehydrated and hypothermic. If we had found him even an hour later, he probably wouldn’t have made it.
That night we stayed with him at the clinic. He was terrified at first, but slowly started to trust us.
Today, this little fighter is recovering well. He has a warm bed, regular meals, and a foster family that loves him. He’s already starting to wag his tail again and play with toys.
We named him Snow.
