For the past six years, 82-year-old Evelyn and her husky Luna have shared the same beautiful morning ritual on their front porch.

As soon as the sun rises, Evelyn settles into her favorite wicker rocking chair with her newspaper and a cold glass of iced tea. Luna sits proudly beside her, tail wagging, soaking up the morning light.

What started as a simple routine has become something much more special.

Every day, when Evelyn opens the newspaper, Luna gently places her head on Grandma’s lap and looks up at her with those bright blue eyes. Evelyn then reads the headlines out loud to Luna, just like she used to read bedtime stories to her grandchildren years ago.

Luna listens carefully, ears perked, occasionally giving a happy “woof” when Evelyn laughs at a funny story.

The neighbors have grown to love watching this duo. Some even stop by just to say hello and hear Evelyn read a paragraph or two to her attentive husky.

Evelyn says with a big smile, “After my husband passed, I felt lonely in the mornings. Luna filled that quiet space with joy. She may not understand every word, but she understands love — and she gives it back to me every single day.” ❤️
