School Bus Driver Notices One Seat Is Empty—Then Makes an Extra Stop

Every morning, a quiet young boy named Ethan sat in the same seat near the front of the school bus.

He always greeted the driver with a small wave, so when his seat remained empty one rainy morning, she immediately noticed. Ethan had never missed the bus without someone calling the school.

After completing her usual route, the driver asked the remaining students to wait and made one extra stop at Ethan’s house.

She found him standing on the porch with his backpack beside him. His mother had become ill during the night, and he had been too frightened to leave her alone or ask anyone for help.

The driver contacted the school and called a nearby relative, who quickly arrived to stay with Ethan’s mother. Once he knew she was safe, Ethan climbed onto the bus and quietly took his usual seat.

What looked like an empty seat was actually a child waiting for someone to notice that his family needed help.
