This August 25th, challenge yourself with an adorable picture puzzle that has been making the rounds on social media! It is a fantastic test of observation skills, and at first glance, it just looks like a beautiful group of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
The file, image_27.png, asks a very simple question: “How many Cavalier King Charles Spaniels can you find?”
What makes this counting challenge so tricky is how some of the tiny puppies are perfectly camouflaged among the fluffy ears and beautiful coats of the larger dogs. There are nine large spaniels sitting prominently, but a handful of sneaky little ones are tucked away. It is incredibly easy to focus only on the big, prominent faces and completely skip over the hidden ones!
To get the right answer, you have to look closely and check every space carefully. Let’s count them up! There are 9 large dogs taking up most of the space (3 in the top row, 3 in the middle row, and 3 in the bottom row).
Now for the hidden ones: looking near the top, there is 1 Blenheim (white and chestnut) puppy tucked between the top left and top center dogs, 1 Ruby (solid chestnut) face peeking out just below the top center dog, and 1 Black and Tan puppy hiding behind the right side of the dog on the top right. Looking at the bottom, there is 1 more small Black and Tan face peeking out right between the bottom left and bottom center dogs.
When you add the 9 large dogs and the 4 hidden puppies together, you find the entire adorable family.
Answer: 13.
