This adorable picture puzzle has been making the rounds on social media, and it is a fantastic test of your observation skills! At first glance, it just looks like a beautiful little family of fluffy owls perched on a branch.
The image asks a very simple question: “How many baby owls do you see?”
What makes this counting challenge so tricky is how some of the littlest birds are perfectly camouflaged among the larger ones. There are six big owls sitting front and center, but a few tiny ones are tucked away in the feathers and the wood. It is incredibly easy for your eyes to focus only on the big faces and completely skip over the little guys!
To get the right answer, you have to look closely and check every nook and cranny. Let’s count them up! There are 6 large owls taking up most of the space (3 in the top row, 3 in the bottom row).
Now for the hidden ones: there is 1 tiny owl peeking out between the large owls on the left side, 1 tiny owl tucked between the large owls on the right side, and 1 very sneaky little owl peeking right out of a hollow hole in the wooden branch at the very bottom!
When you add the 6 large owls and the 3 tiny hidden ones together, you find the entire feathered family.
Answer: 9.
