Challenge yourself with an adorable picture puzzle that has been making the rounds on social media! It is a fantastic test of observation skills, and at first glance, it just looks like a beautiful grid of yellow Labrador retrievers.
The image asks a very simple question: “How many Labrador puppies do you see?”
What makes this counting challenge so tricky is how some of the tiny puppies are perfectly camouflaged alongside or tucked between the larger dogs. There are six large Labradors sitting and resting prominently in the various panels, but a handful of smaller ones are tucked away as companions. It is incredibly easy to focus only on the big, prominent faces and completely miss the smaller ones!
To get the right answer, you have to look closely at every single box in the 3×3 layout. Let’s count them up across the rows!
* Top row: 1 large dog with 1 small puppy sitting to its left (2), 1 large dog with 1 small puppy peeking out from behind its right side (2), and 1 large dog with 1 small puppy sitting right beside its right front leg (2). That’s 6 dogs total in the top row.
* Middle row: 1 large dog with 2 small puppies sitting on either side of it (3), 1 lone medium-sized pup sitting in the center (1), and 1 large resting dog with 1 small puppy peeking out from behind its right shoulder (2). That’s 6 dogs total in the middle row.
* Bottom row: 1 large dog with 1 small puppy nestled directly between its front paws (2), 1 large dog with 1 small puppy nestled between its front paws (2), and 1 large dog with 1 small puppy peeking out from behind its right side (2). That’s 6 dogs total in the bottom row.
When you add all the dogs across every section together, you find the entire adorable pack.
Answer: 18.
