This adorable picture puzzle has been making the rounds on social media, and it is a fantastic test of your observation skills! At first glance, it just looks like a beautiful pile of spotted dalmatian puppies.
The image asks a very simple question: “How many dalmatian puppies are hiding here?”
What makes this counting challenge so tricky is how some of the little puppies are perfectly camouflaged among all those spots. There are six large puppies sitting front and center, but a few tiny ones are tucked away in the background. It is incredibly easy for your eyes to get lost in the sea of black and white and completely skip over the little guys!
To get the right answer, you have to look closely and check the spaces between the dogs very carefully. Let’s count them up! There are 6 large puppies taking up most of the space (3 in the front, 3 in the back).
Now for the hidden ones: there is 1 tiny puppy on the far left edge, 1 peeking between the top-left and top-center dogs, 1 tucked right in the middle below the top-center dog, 1 peeking from behind the top-right dog, and 1 more on the far right edge.
When you add the 6 large puppies and the 5 tiny hidden ones together, you find the entire spotted family.
Answer: 11.
