A terrifying doorbell-camera clip appears to show a large spotted cat suddenly attacking a man just outside his own home.
The man is only a few steps from the porch when the animal charges toward him without warning. Within seconds, it lunges and knocks him down as he desperately tries to protect himself and get back toward the door.
Fortunately, the terrifying encounter did not end in tragedy. The man managed to fight the animal off long enough to get inside the house, where family members immediately called for help. He suffered several scratches and bruises but was later said to be largely unharmed.
Wildlife officers were contacted after the incident and searched the surrounding area for the animal.
What makes the footage so shocking is how quickly an ordinary moment outside his own home turned into a fight to get safely back inside.
