How Many Guavas Do You See? This Counting Puzzle Is Easy to Miscount

This guava counting puzzle looks simple, but the sliced fruit and different group sizes make it surprisingly easy to lose track.

The easiest way to solve it is to count each group from left to right, one row at a time.

Top row: 2 + 3 + 2 = 7

Second row: 3 + 2 + 3 = 8

Third row: 2 + 3 + 2 = 7

Bottom row: 3 + 2 + 3 = 8

Now add the four row totals:

7 + 8 + 7 + 8 = 30

The sliced guavas are still visible guavas in the puzzle, so they should be included in the count. Those cut pieces are exactly what can make people hesitate or accidentally skip one.

Answer: There are 30 guavas shown in the picture.

Did you count all 30 on your first try, or did one of the sliced guavas throw off your total?
