What Four-Letter Word Is the Same Forward, Backward, and Upside Down?

This visual word riddle asks: What four-letter word is the same forward, backward, and upside down?

The answer is: NOON.

Read normally from left to right, the word is NOON. Read backward from right to left, it is still NOON because it is a palindrome.

In simple block capital lettering, the word can also keep the same appearance when turned upside down through a 180-degree rotation: the two N’s and two O’s return to corresponding positions.

The exact visual effect depends on the font style, which is why the riddle usually assumes plain capital letters. With that convention, NOON satisfies all three parts of the clue.

It is both a palindrome and a simple rotational word puzzle.
