What Has a Head and a Foot but No Arms or Legs? Riddle Answer

This riddle sounds as though it is describing a person, but the answer is an everyday object. It has a “head” at one end and a “foot” at the other, yet it has no human arms or legs.

Answer: A bed.

A bed has a head end, often marked by a headboard, and a foot end, sometimes with a footboard. Those familiar terms make the clue work even though the object is obviously not alive.

The trick is to think of objects that borrow names for parts of the human body. Once you do that, the answer becomes much easier to see.
