Nine big pandas are easy to see in this charming picture, but the headline says there are thirteen. That means several little pandas are hiding among the larger animals and the bamboo.
Where should you look?
Count the nine prominent pandas first, moving from left to right and top to bottom. Then look in the gaps between their heads and shoulders. Some tiny faces peek out from behind the larger bears, and others blend into the black-and-white pattern.
The answer
The intended total is 13 pandas: nine large pandas and four small hidden pandas. The secret is to look for little faces rather than only full bodies.
How many did you find on your first pass? These counting puzzles are a fun way to practice careful observation.
