Can You Find All 13 Squirrels? A Tricky Hidden-Animal Puzzle

Ready for a quick eye test? This squirrel picture appears to show a small group of fluffy animals. Look carefully, though, because some of the tiniest squirrels are hidden among the large tails and bodies.

How many squirrels are in the picture?

The intended answer is 13 squirrels. Nine larger squirrels are easier to spot. Four smaller ones are tucked into gaps between the adults and near the tails.

How to spot the hidden squirrels

Begin by counting the most obvious squirrels from top to bottom. Then look again at the spaces between them. Pay particular attention to the little ears and eyes peeking over shoulders or out of fluffy tails. The hidden squirrels are much smaller than the ones in front.

It helps to slow down and look for faces rather than whole bodies. The visual trick works because the large squirrels draw most of our attention, making the small ones easy to miss.

Challenge your friends

Try counting once without looking at the answer and then check the picture a second time. Did you notice every small squirrel on your first attempt? Share your count and see who can spot all thirteen the fastest.
