For weeks, the little puppy watched families walk through the shelter and leave with other dogs.
He greeted every visitor with a hopeful wag, but each evening he returned to the same kennel and curled up alone. Shelter workers worried that his quiet nature was causing people to overlook him.
Then one family stopped in front of his door.
Instead of walking away after a few minutes, they sat beside him, offered him a treat, and waited patiently until he felt safe enough to come closer.
By the end of the visit, the puppy had placed one paw in the child’s lap and refused to move.
The family completed the adoption paperwork that afternoon and brought him home to a warm bed, a basket of toys, and a place beside them on the couch.
After waiting so patiently, he finally had what he had always wanted—a loving home of his own.
