This visual puzzle contains more holes than the six obvious tears most people notice first.
Start with the normal openings found in every T-shirt:
- 1 neck opening
- 2 sleeve openings
- 1 opening at the bottom
That gives us 4 regular holes.
Next, count the 6 torn holes shown on the shirt. Because the background is visible through them, the puzzle assumes that each tear passes through both the front and back layers:
6 front holes + 6 matching back holes = 12
Now add everything together:
12 torn holes + 4 regular openings = 16 holes
The intended answer is 16 holes.
Many people answer six because they count only the visible tears and forget the shirt’s regular openings and the corresponding holes through its back.
