They Cut Down My Trees for Their View — So I Shut Down the Only Road to Their Houses

I called my lawyer the same afternoon. Within 48 hours we had “No Trespassing” signs up and a heavy chain with a lock across the road at the property line.

The next morning, the first Cedar Ridge resident drove up, saw the chain, and called the HOA president in a panic. By noon, my phone was blowing up with numbers I didn’t recognize.

They offered to pay for new trees. They offered to pave my driveway. They even offered cash.

I politely declined every call.

On the third day, the HOA president showed up at my door with two board members. He looked nervous.

“Eli… we made a mistake. What do you want?”

I looked him straight in the eyes and said:

“I want my trees back. Since you can’t give me that, you can drive the long way around from now on.”

Some neighbors still complain on their community page. Others have started waving when they see me.

As for me? I sit on my porch every evening under the evening light, looking at the six new saplings I planted where the old ones stood.

Justice doesn’t always grow fast… but it does grow.
