This is Myrtle Corbin, famously known as the “Four-Legged Girl from Texas.” Born in 1868 with a rare condition called dipygus, she had two separate pelvises and four fully functional legs.
Myrtle could move all four legs independently and even walked normally using her two main legs while the smaller ones were mostly decorative. She became a popular sideshow performer as a child and later lived a relatively private life, marrying and having children.
Her story is one of the most remarkable medical cases in history, showing the incredible resilience of the human body and spirit.
