In 2001, Allen Parton, a wheelchair user and former Royal Navy officer, collapsed after being knocked out of his wheelchair outside a hotel. His loyal service dog, Endal, immediately sprang into action.
Endal pulled Allen into the recovery position, retrieved his mobile phone from under a car, dragged a blanket from the wheelchair to cover him, and then ran to a nearby hotel to alert staff for help. Thanks to Endal’s intelligence and devotion, Allen received the medical attention he needed in time.
Endal became one of the most famous service dogs in the world and inspired many with his life-saving actions. He passed away in 2009, but his legacy lives on.
