Do You Recognize This Old Laundry Gadget? Its A

This vintage laundry gadget is a hand-crank clothes wringer, sometimes called a laundry mangle.

After clothes were washed by hand, they were fed between the two wooden rollers. Turning the side crank squeezed out excess water, making the clothing much easier and faster to dry.

The screws at the top allowed the pressure between the rollers to be adjusted for different fabrics and thicknesses.

Before automatic washing machines with spin cycles became common, wringers were a familiar part of laundry day.

The correct answer is a hand-crank clothes wringer.
