This math puzzle catches people because “divided by half” does not mean dividing by 2.
The expression is:
1000 ÷ 1/2 + 100
Dividing by one-half is the same as multiplying by 2:
1000 ÷ 0.5 = 2000
Now add 100:
2000 + 100 = 2100
That is why 600 is not the correct answer.
