What Can Run but Has No Legs? Can You Solve This Classic Riddle?

This classic riddle sounds like it must be describing an animal or a person:

“What can run but has no legs?”

The trick is to think about the word “run” in a different way. Something doesn’t need feet to move quickly from one place to another.

Water can run from a faucet, flow down a stream, or rush along a river without ever taking a single step.

Once you stop thinking about running as something done with legs, the answer becomes much easier.

Answer: Water.
