How Many Japanese Chins Are Hiding Here? This Puppy Puzzle Is Easy to Miscount

This Japanese Chin counting puzzle looks simple at first, but the different group sizes make it surprisingly easy to lose track.

The easiest way to solve it is to count each group from left to right, one row at a time.

Top row: 2 + 2 + 1 = 5 dogs.

Middle row: 3 + 2 + 2 = 7 dogs.

Bottom row: 2 + 2 + 3 = 7 dogs.

Now add the three row totals together:

5 + 7 + 7 = 19.

That means there are 19 Japanese Chins in the picture.

The smaller dogs are especially easy to overlook because several are positioned close beside or partly behind the larger dogs. Counting the entire picture at once can quickly lead to a missed puppy or accidentally counting one twice.

Answer: 19 Japanese Chins.

Did you manage to find all 19 on your first try?
