Six People Each Take One Apple but One Is Still Left in the Basket — How?

This puzzle says six people each take one apple from a basket, yet one apple is still left in the basket. How can that happen?

The answer is: the sixth person takes the last apple together with the basket.

Each of the first five people removes one apple. When the sixth person takes their apple, they take the basket with that apple still inside it. That means the final apple is technically still in the basket, even though the sixth person has taken it.

The puzzle works because most people assume every apple must be physically removed from the basket. The wording never says that. It only says each person takes one apple.

That small loophole is what makes the riddle work.
