These adorable baby seals look like a cozy group resting together on a sunny beach. But the counting challenge asks: “I see 10 baby seals. How many can you find?”
Count the obvious seals, then look again
The largest seals are easy to recognize, but some small seal faces are tucked between their flippers and bodies. The key is to look for every distinct head, not just the animals you can see completely.
Where might you miss one?
Start at the upper-left side of the group, then move across the seals closest to the ocean. Check the narrow space between the two left-hand seals, then look near the right edge under the spotted seal. Finally, inspect the gaps in the lower middle before you settle on a final number.
Overlapping-animal puzzles can fool us because our eyes naturally notice the bigger faces first. After counting the most obvious seals, a second careful scan often reveals smaller ones that were hiding in plain sight.
Challenge your friends
How many baby seals did you spot on your first attempt? Try zooming in and counting them from left to right without counting any animal twice. Compare your result with a friend and see who finds the most tiny faces.
