Take a look at this adorable group of baby rabbits. The headline says, “I see 9 baby bunnies. How many are really here?” But the little faces behind the larger bunnies make this a surprisingly tricky counting puzzle.
Where are the hidden baby bunnies?
Start by spotting the big rabbits at the front and center of the scene. Next, search the spaces between their ears and around the grass. Some much smaller rabbits are peeking out from behind the fluffy animals.
Look closely behind the lop-eared bunny on the left, around the tall ears in the center, and near the paws of the rabbit on the right. Distinct little noses and pairs of eyes can help you count the hidden ones.
How to count without missing one
Move from the top of the photograph to the bottom. Count each unique face rather than only the animals whose entire bodies are visible. Don’t count a rabbit twice just because its ears and face appear in separate gaps.
The point of this challenge is to look beyond the first nine suggested by the headline and decide what you can actually see. It’s a fun puzzle to compare with family and friends: How many baby bunnies did you find?
