At first glance, you might see nine fluffy yellow baby ducks gathered beside a peaceful pond. But the headline asks an important question: How many ducklings are hiding here?
Look beyond the nine obvious ducks
The large ducklings are easy to notice, arranged in three rows. Smaller yellow faces are partially hidden behind them. Take your time and examine the gaps near their wings, at the edge of the grass, and behind the ducks standing near the water.
Where should you look?
Start with the top row and work your way toward the bottom. Near the middle row, a little duckling peeks from between the larger birds. Another is partly covered on the left, while small faces can also be found along the right and lower portions of the group.
What’s the intended answer?
There are nine obvious ducklings and four hidden ones, for an intended total of 13 baby ducks. The easiest way to check is to count each distinct head rather than every full body.
