Most People Count 9: How Many Baby Stoats Are Really Here?

Nine little stoats stand out in this adorable picture, but more tiny faces are peeking from the grass and rocks. Can you find all the hidden ones?

How Many Baby Stoats Can You See?

At first, nine larger baby stoats are easy to pick out in three loose rows. But the picture has several smaller stoats tucked around the rocks, between the bodies and behind the others.

Try counting the obvious nine first. Then look carefully at the left and right edges, underneath the larger stoats, and in the center gaps. A little face or a pair of ears may be all you can see.

Look Beyond the First Nine

The answer is more than nine. The main challenge is noticing each of the hidden little stoats without mistaking the same one for two animals.

Because overlapping details can make a precise count tricky, take a second look before settling on your total. How many individual faces can you find?
