How Many Kittens Can You See? Don’t Count Too Fast!

Fifteen kittens arranged in three rows of five

These fluffy kittens are easy to admire and surprisingly easy to miscount if your eyes jump around the picture. Some are sitting upright, some are lying down, and their coats come in several colors. Before reading further, try counting from left to right.

Count One Row at a Time

A good trick for picture-counting challenges is to divide the scene into sections. Here, the kittens are arranged in three rows. There are five kittens in each row, with no need to count any tails as a separate animal.

The Answer

15 kittens. Three rows of five give 3 × 5 = 15. Did you see them all?
