How Many Cats Do You See? The Correct Answer Is

This cat-counting puzzle contains more cats than most people notice at first glance.

Start with the clearly visible cats:

  • 1 cat resting on top of the cat tree
  • 1 kitten inside the cat-tree opening
  • 3 large cats sitting across the middle
  • 4 cats and kittens across the bottom

That gives us 9 obvious cats.

Now look carefully for the hidden cats:

  • 1 orange cat peeking between the larger cats
  • 1 white kitten hiding behind the plant
  • 1 kitten tucked inside the basket

Now add them together:

9 + 3 = 12

The correct answer is 12 cats.

Many people miss the three hidden cats because only their faces are visible behind the larger animals, leaves, and basket.
