This cat-counting puzzle contains more cats than most people notice at first glance.
Start with the clearly visible cats:
- 1 cat resting on top of the cat tree
- 1 kitten inside the cat-tree opening
- 3 large cats sitting across the middle
- 4 cats and kittens across the bottom
That gives us 9 obvious cats.
Now look carefully for the hidden cats:
- 1 orange cat peeking between the larger cats
- 1 white kitten hiding behind the plant
- 1 kitten tucked inside the basket
Now add them together:
9 + 3 = 12
The correct answer is 12 cats.
Many people miss the three hidden cats because only their faces are visible behind the larger animals, leaves, and basket.
