How Many Robins Do You See? This Cute Picture Puzzle Tests Your Eyes

This August 25th, challenge yourself with an adorable picture puzzle that has been making the rounds on social media! It is a fantastic test of observation skills, and at first glance, it just looks like a beautiful flock of robins.

The file, image_28.png, asks a very simple question: “How many robins do you see?”

What makes this counting challenge so tricky is how some of the tiny birds are perfectly camouflaged among the bright green leaves, the brown branches, and the tree trunk. There are six large robins sitting prominently, but a handful of sneaky little ones are tucked away. It is incredibly easy for older eyes to focus only on the big, bright orange chests and completely skip over the hidden faces!

To get the right answer, you have to look closely and check every space carefully. Let’s count them up! There are 6 large birds taking up most of the attention (2 on the left branches, 1 on the center stump, 1 on the lower middle branch, and 2 perched on the branches attached to the right tree trunk).

Now for the hidden ones: there is 1 tiny face peeking out from the green leaves on the top left branch, 1 little bird resting safely in a nest in the bottom left corner, 1 peering out from a hole in the tree trunk on the right, and 1 more tucked away in the bushy leaves in the bottom right corner.

When you add the 6 large robins and the 4 hidden birds together, you find the entire beautiful flock.

Answer: 10.
