How Many Goldfinches Can You Find? This Beautiful Picture Puzzle Tests Your Eyes

Challenge yourself with a colorful picture puzzle that has been making the rounds on social media! It is a fantastic test of observation skills, and at first glance, it just looks like a lovely collection of bright yellow goldfinches perched among green leaves and pink blossoms.

The image asks a very simple question: “HOW MANY GOLDFINCHES CAN YOU FIND?”

What makes this counting challenge so tricky is how some of the tiny birds are perfectly camouflaged among the branches alongside the larger birds. There are seven large goldfinches perched prominently across the scene, but a handful of sneaky little ones are tucked away as hidden companions. It is incredibly easy to focus only on the bright, prominent yellow bodies and completely miss the smaller ones blending into the background!

To get the right answer, you have to look closely at every single branch. Let’s count them up across the different areas:

* Left side: 1 large goldfinch at the top left, 1 small bird perched on a tiny branch just below it (2), 1 large goldfinch in the middle-left, 1 small bird sitting just below that one near the pink flowers (2), and 1 large goldfinch at the bottom left (1). That’s 5 birds total on the left side.
* Center area: 1 large goldfinch perched highly in the upper middle, 1 small bird tucked near the pink blossoms right in the center (2), and 1 large goldfinch near the bottom middle (1). That’s 3 birds total in the middle section.
* Right side: 1 large goldfinch at the top right, 1 small companion nestled on the branch below it (2), 1 large goldfinch perched in the middle right (1), and 1 tiny bird sitting on a thin branch down at the very bottom right (1). That’s 4 birds total on the right side.

When you add all the prominent adult birds and the hidden little ones together, you find the entire beautiful flock.
