This adorable group of baby ferrets makes a surprisingly tricky counting challenge. The headline says “Most people see 9. How many baby ferrets are really here?”
Look beyond the obvious ferrets
Nine larger ferrets stand out immediately, but small ferret faces are hidden among them. Their similar brown-and-cream coloring helps them blend into the fluffy crowd.
Where should you look?
First count the prominent animals, moving from the top row to the bottom. Next, check the spaces between the upper ferrets and the little heads tucked beside the middle row. Don’t miss the small faces peeking out near the lower edges of the group.
Pay attention to each distinct pair of eyes and nose rather than full bodies. The small ferrets are only partially visible, and that is what makes them easy to overlook.
Can you beat the challenge?
Give yourself a minute to count carefully. If your first number is nine, look again and search for additional tiny faces. Try comparing your total with a friend to see who spots them fastest.
