A Girl Fell Off a 20-Foot Ladder and Wasn’t Hurt — Can You Explain How?

This riddle sounds dangerous at first:

“A girl fell off a 20-foot ladder but wasn’t hurt. How?”

The trick is that the question never says she fell from the top of the ladder.

She could have been standing on the very bottom step when she slipped off. Falling only a few inches would make it perfectly possible for her to walk away without being hurt.

Answer: She fell from the bottom step of the ladder.
